Amanda is a healthcare content marketing specialist and freelance thought leadership ghostwriter. She is a passionate advocate for chronic and invisible illness visibility and a lifelong fangirl. Growing up, Amanda found her closest friends through online fan communities, bonding over shared love for books, TV shows, and movies. Now, she geeks out over anime, manga, sci-fi, and speculative fiction. In her spare time, Amanda works on her own science fiction novels and fanfiction, while enjoying ballet, modern dance, and exploring San Jose’s thrift shops. She lives in the Bay Area with her two cats, Warden and Dulcie.

About TEDxTemecula
Since 2012, TEDxTemecula has served as a platform for visionary speakers and performers to share bold ideas with an engaged and thoughtful audience. Covering a wide range of topics—from technology and education to health, the arts, and social change—TEDxTemecula showcases perspectives that challenge, inspire, and illuminate our understanding of the world around us.
Attendees leave with fresh insight, renewed curiosity, and a deeper connection to the community. TEDxTemecula is independently organized under license from TED. The event is produced annually by a dedicated team of local volunteers led by community advocate and entrepreneur Jim McLaughlin. Each talk is professionally recorded and published online, where it can reach a global audience. In some cases, standout presentations may even be featured on the main TED platform.

About TEDx
TEDx is a global initiative designed to help communities, organizations, and individuals spark conversation and connection through locally organized events. These gatherings are modeled after the TED experience, blending live speakers and recorded TED Talks to explore ideas that matter. While each TEDx event is independently organized, it operates under guidelines provided by TED to ensure a consistent standard of quality and impact.
TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives, and ultimately, the world. What began as a four-day conference in California has grown into a global movement. TED brings together leading thinkers, innovators, and changemakers from every discipline to deliver impactful talks—each under 18 minutes—that are made freely available to the public.
The TED platform has featured a diverse range of speakers, including scientists, artists, entrepreneurs, humanitarians, and heads of state.
