When have you been on the brink of something wonderful? Of something disastrous? What are we on the brink of in our local community, the nation, or the planet?
Be a change agent by being selfish. What causes change must come from within first, we can not wait for others to make these changes, but that changes we want for ourselves and our world must begin from within ourselves. Stop being so selfless and start feeding your own soul by engaging in your passion, be selfish and give. RACHEL MASON has a long history in philanthropy and the nonprofit sector, and her passion for service to others is engaging. She encourages others to think differently about the impact that volunteer service and philanthropy can have on our worlds.

A good night's sleep actually starts in the morning. We need morning balanced sunlight and then, to protect our eyes from the unbalanced blue light of technology, such as cell phones, computer screens, and LED lights. Imagine getting news from 15-year-olds. Not so pretty, right? The current reliance on social media is giving exactly that: unfiltered and unreliable news. The best way for individuals to get the accurate news is to find credible sources. For writers, reliability comes from training and cherishing ethical reporting. STEPHANIE LAI is a high school senior, Editor-in-Chief of the school paper and reporter for a local paper, Valley News. She teaches and inspires writers on technique, ethics and sustainability of journalism at all scales. As a summer project, she hosted her own journalism essentials class that kick-started her motivation to advocate for reliable news. She tackles her awkward position as a social media lover and a reporter to convey her message.

Awareness of wildfires has never been greater in our country’s history than now. What were once generally considered issues of the West are now nationally recognized as an increasing threat to all of our communities and ecosystems. As a result, the term ‘wildland fire’ has become a bit of a misnomer. Large wildfires frequently threaten homes, businesses and lives, shifting the focus to community defense. We are now witnessing a dramatic shift in the frequency and intensity of wildfires due to a variety of factors, most of which are human-caused. New research and education programs are aimed at combating this disturbing trend, helping to create the next generation of wildland firefighters. DR. MATT RAHN has over two decades of experience in applied sciences and policy, with an emphasis on environmental science, statistics, public policy and wildfire science. Having earned both a PhD and law degree, Dr. Rahn has focused much of his attention on the interface between science and policy by supporting local, state and federal programs in collaboration with lawyers, policymakers and scientists.

PATRICK MURPHY shares how a serious diagnosis is life altering in many different ways. Often serving as a “wake-up call,” it can even be a positive game-changer. When we experience someone else’s story, it touches something inside in a deep way. We recognize our own nature and feel the range of emotions until we find a life-line that gives us hope and possibility. Don’t we all need more of that?

Is AI our salvation or our doom? The only industry human well-being will be written so deeply into the AI code to prevent the latter, is healthcare. With AI in healthcare we can take the guesswork out of good health, the practice out of medicine, and continue our transition to personalized medicine. AARON HARDIN started his career as an engineering and metal fabrication expert. After studying microbiology and chemistry in University, he started a data company to address the shortcomings of the life-science industry. Shortly after marrying the woman of his dreams and having his son he incorporated Hardin Scientific with the intent of exponentially increasing the rate of research and discovery while reducing errors and expenses to the laboratories. Earlier this year his company was recognized as one of the most innovative companies in the Temecula Valley by the Economic Development Coalition and considered one of the Small Business Development Administration success stories.
